Kaleidoscope Collection

Every year Cumbria Crystal invites students from the Royal College of Art, Britain's only exclusively post-graduate art & design college (ranked the best Art & Design college in the world for 10 years) to work with our Master Glass Cutters to learn how to design and cut crystal. As an endangered craft Cumbria Crystal is the only manufacturer in the UK now able to pass on these heritage skills.

Xinlu Liu's concept impressed the judges of the 2024 by its delicate refinement and sensitive contemporary aesthetic so much that the collection is to be manufactured as one of our core collections.

Xinlu's Kaleidoscope collection exoplores an unusual concept, in that the delicate hand-carved design is reflected across pieces, creating non-matching, harmonious pairs. Peek into each glass to explore the dramatic kaleidoscopic effect created by the different patterns.
