Holding 8oz, this is a popular sized whisky tumbler suitable for spirits with, or without, mixers and soft drinks – (BT-101-GR-FO)

Description

Grasmere is our most popular traditional pattern. It was designed by Lady Grania Cavendish, one of the original founders of the company in 1976, in classic Georgian style. You may recognise the collection used on set of the worldwide hit drama Downton Abbey. Its time consuming and complex design is achieved by using flute, mitre, diamond and thumbprint cuts and the design requires our whole team of cutters to produce it.

Crafting exclusively by hand inevitably means that a small proportion of our products do not pass the rigorous quality checks required to be assessed as Premium Quality. These are classified as ‘Slightly Imperfect’ or ‘Second Quality‘. ‘Slightly Imperfect’ products may have minor flaws such as small bubbles, stones, slight discolourisation or subtle variations in size or weight. Customers for whom compromise is not an option should consider the Premium Quality.

Ive got several whisky tumbers including designer Italian styles, blade runner glasses and all sorts, without doubt the Grasmere is my absolute favourite, a joy to hold and drink from, I love dropping in the factory shop and buying yet another for my set…

I thought I was ordering the smaller tumbler but received the double whisky. I have kept them, but would have preferred the smaller glass to make up my existing to 8.

This whisky tumbler to me is the definition of timeless elegance! It has been on my wish list for some year before I finally pulled the trigger and it definitely lived up to the expectations.
The shipping to Italy was very expensive (around 50 €) but the package came very well packed. Unpacking it reminded me of Russian Matryoshka dolls: A package of roughly 0.50 x 0.40 x 0.45 m, filled to the top with polystyrene peanuts, that held another box, again filled with PS peanuts and the individually wrapped glasses separated by a grid-like cardboard structure and some more packaging material.
The imperfections of the factory outlet quality are really minor such as small bubbles. You have to hold the glass really close up to your face to even spot them!
