Grasmere Cumbria Baluster - Goblet (Outlet Stock) SW-015-GR-FO
The baluster stem is unique in that it has a decorative bubble of air embedded into the stem requiring a series of additional hot-glass processes during its creation.
The impressive and elaborate nature of this glass makes it the ultimate dinner party statement.
Grasmere is our most popular traditional pattern. It was designed by Lady Grania Cavendish, one of the original founders of the company in 1976, in classic Georgian style.
You may recognise the collection as it was used on set of the worldwide hit drama Downton Abbey. Its time consuming and complex design is achieved using seven different diamond and sandstone wheels to create a complex fusion of flute, mitre, diamond and olive cuts. The design requires the skills of our whole team of glass cutters to produce it.

Crafting exclusively by hand inevitably means that a small proportion of our products do not pass the rigorous quality checks required to be assessed as Premium Quality. These are classified as Slightly Imperfect or Second Quality . Slightly Imperfect products may have minor flaws such as small bubbles, stones, slight discolouration or subtle variations in size or weight. Customers for whom compromise is not an option should consider the Premium Quality.

Our products are handcrafted by our small team of artisans on a made-to-order basis. If your product must be handcrafted especially for you, we will be in touch to inform you of this and advise you of an anticipated delivery date. You will not have to wait any longer than 8 weeks if we do not have your order in stock, but we always endeavour to deliver to you much sooner than this. If we are unable to deliver your order in time for a special event, you will be given the option of a Commissioning Letter that can be gifted whilst waiting for your crystal to arrive. Please state in your Order Notes (which can be found on the Basket page) if you require for a certain date.

This is the second item from the Grasmere range I’ve bought (also bought the 12oz Whiskey Tumbler a few months ago) and they are very good quality. You can feel the weight of the glass & the cutting is outstanding. Customer service is also excellent, straight forward ordering and delivery was good.
I had a set of ten balusters and one was accidentally broken. Thank you for this very heavy and beautiful piece and my set is back to ten in total now,
