Glass Blower 'Experiences' & Production Assistant

£21,902.50 - £23,926.50 (pro-rata) +£60 pw assistance towards accommodation.
Initial contract until December 23rd, 2022 with the potential to become permanent in 2023. Due to the short-term nature of this contract additional support towards the cost of accommodation is offered.
The company is seeking to appoint a glassblower to deliver hands-on glassblowing ‘Experiences’ to the public. Prior to Covid, and suspension of the programme, this primarily consisted of one-on-one bauble and paperweight workshops with occasional longer workshops. With tourism in Cumbria projected to bounce back this year we wish to resurrect this offer. In 2020, after only two years of running, the Glassblowing Experiences programme was voted in the top three, ‘Best Experiences of the Year’ by Cumbria Tourism Awards so there is a great opportunity to really develop this project.

Person Specification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Glass, or equivalent glassblowing experience.

• Coldworking experience.

• Experience & confidence to deliver hands-on, One-on-One, glassblowing experiences.

• Fluent English.

• Good time-management and organisational skills and an ability to work calmly under pressure.

• Ability to communicate clearly, enthusiastically and effectively.

• Understanding of the Health & Safety issues relating to glass making.

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

• Computer and social media skills.

• Demonstrates respect and consideration towards colleagues.

• Ability to work independently on your own initiative and within a team.

• Reliable trustworthy and a good time-keeper.

• Demonstrate good attention to detail.

• A willingness to learn and take instruction.

Crystal Grader, Marker & Dispatcher

This post offers the successful applicant the opportunity to work at the last remaining luxury crystal factory in the United Kingdom & to play an important role within a small factory environment with highly skilled artisans and this vacancy combines 3 key finishing activities in the manufacture of crystal.

Person Specification

The vacancy is full time 37.5 hours a week and salary for this post is £17,375 per year.

Glass Cutter (full time)

As the company’s Glass Cutter you are responsible for the specialist cutting of crystal using a variety of techniques and tools to produce the highest quality products.

Production Glass Blower (full time)

As a Senior Glassblower you will support the Master Glass Blower to effectively manage the glassblowing teams to ensure the efficient production of high quality hand-blown crystal.

Our number one priority is to keep our staff and customers safe, so we have put some measures in place to ensure this.
