Fragrance Diffuser Bottle- Batutto cutting- Polished Finish: GW-714-BAT
Each diffuser bottle is meticulously mouth blown by one of our team of master glass blowers. They are then hand carved on a diamond lathe using the rarely seen Battuto technique. The diffuser is acid polished to created a highly polished finish. A satin version also available.
The Battuto technique was developed in France and Italy and uses a multi-faceted wheel engraving process intended to represent beaten, or planished, metal. The cuts are hand-cut to differing depths, using a diamond lathe and with overlapping irregularity, to create a faceted fish scale or hammered metal effect.
The process originated in the early 1900s, notably from the Daum glass works in Nancy, France. In Murano the process was a favourite of Carlo Scarpa at Venini & Co, as well as with contemporary Italian master glassblowers Lino Tagliapietra, and Davide Salvadore.
The diffuser comes with a Cumbria Crystal branded presentation box. A satin version of the same scent diffuser is also illustrated: GW-714-BAT-SATIN

My husband loves his new glass, bought on behalf of my daughters for Fathers Day. I chose the smaller of the tumblers as he prefers a slender glass for a dram of whiskey rather than a great big tumbler. He says it’s the nicest glass he’s ever had.

Received my order here in the USA just a few short weeks after placing my order at the factory in England. Much sooner then expected. Due to the size of my order, 40 pieces of stemware and a punch bowl, there so a few problems with customs on entering in the USA. I'm hoping this will be a learning experience for the team at Cumbria Crystal and they can alert other people that place a large order of what will be required. The items arrived safely and where all well packed. I could not be happier with my order. This IS the premier crystal stemware as far as I'm concerned.
