To our knowledge only one person in Britain still uses the traditional casting-on process to apply glass to make stems and feet. Cumbria Crystal master glassblower Steve demonstrates how this is done in the application of molten glass to create a foot on a baluster goblet with a decorative stem.
The process originated in Stourbridge, the home of the British crystal industry in the 1800s. It came to Ulverston in 1976 when glassblowers from the area were persuaded by relocate to establish Cumbria Crystal

We have been fortunate enough to buy these amazing decanters to add to our collection of Cumbria Grasmere crystal. They are a delight to look at and make you feel exceptionally special to use.
My husband loves his new glass, bought on behalf of my daughters for Fathers Day. I chose the smaller of the tumblers as he prefers a slender glass for a dram of whiskey rather than a great big tumbler. He says it’s the nicest glass he’s ever had.

Received my order here in the USA just a few short weeks after placing my order at the factory in England. Much sooner then expected. Due to the size of my order, 40 pieces of stemware and a punch bowl, there so a few problems with customs on entering in the USA. I'm hoping this will be a learning experience for the team at Cumbria Crystal and they can alert other people that place a large order of what will be required. The items arrived safely and where all well packed. I could not be happier with my order. This IS the premier crystal stemware as far as I'm concerned.

Exceptionally lovely glasses with a weight which suggests gravitas whilst the cut glass exudes joy and celebration.
I bought 2 Grasmere whisky tumblers. The craftmanship is beautiful and a lovely weight. Altogether a thing of beauty.

A heavyweight for the first few drinks but then your mind says 'yes', this is how a whisky glass should be. I bought one from the outlet and to be truthfully honest I can only see 2 minute bubbles, it's 95% of a new glass.
Difficulty with delivery which was terrible but the tumbler is superb and my son loves it
